The Muscat International Airport is one of the largest airport in Oman, which is also named as Seeb International Airport. The airport is also acting as the primary operational hub of Oman Air, which is the flagship national carrier of Oman. The Muscat Airport is a huge facility with a lot of international airlines operating from here.
The airport is located at about 32 km from the central Muscat. Recently a new terminal was opened in the Muscat International Airport and another one will be completed this year with 12 million yearly passenger handling capacity. Other renovation processes are also underway and once completed, the airport will become one of the biggest in the entire Middle East region.
Airport Information
The airport was started back in 1973 as an international airport by replacing the existing smaller airfield at Bayt al Falaj. There are fully facilitated passenger terminals separately for domestic and international flights. The airport also featured a fully-facilitated cargo terminal, which is capable of handling bigger cargo also.
Being a major air travel hub in Oman, the Muscat Airport is accessed by a large number of travelers traveling in and out of the country. Many foreign workers, as well as professionals, access this airport for their international travel needs.
